I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and over the course of my career, I was involved in the design and construction of bridges, motorways and tunnels in the UK (Cumberland Basin and M6 Motorway), Malaysia, Trinidad, Turkey and Poland. I was also involved in the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit Railway in Singapore. I retired to Bath in 2003 and joined The Bath Probus Club (BPC) in 2011, becoming Chairman of the Club in 2023. I enjoy meeting fellow members in our thriving Club, and am keen to encourage new members to join BPC.

I am a Retired Civil Servant having retired from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Abbey Wood, Bristol back in December 2012 after nineteen years service where I had been employed as a Commodity Manager supplying the Royal Navy (RN) with Water Purification plant and equipments as well as compressors, Valves and pipeworks. I have been a member of the Bath Probus club for many years and also a member of the Bideford Probus Club in Devon for about two years or more. The Bath Probus Club is most welcoming and we have different speakers each month providing a most interesting selection of topics. I will assume the role of Chairman in July this year following our AGM."

A graduate in International Marketing, I held two jobs in marketing and export sales before joining an employee-owned communication training company, Canning, in 1983.
For 32 enjoyable years I delivered negotiation and presentation courses all over Europe, Japan and Indonesia. Now retired, I still have a part-time ISO Quality role with them and am the reasurer of its registered charity The Canning Trust.
